How to Break Up with Someone You Still Love

How To Break Up With Someone You Still Love

how to deal with a break up

Have you been wondering how to break up with someone you still love? The tips in this article will help you to do just that.

You know that you need to break up, but you do still love and care about them, so you do not wish to hurt them. The longer that you wait to do this, the worse the hurt will be.

There are things that you can do to make this process a little easier on both of you. Read on to find out how.

1. What Is Love?

Love is the feeling you get when you think that someone can meet your psychological needs that are not met in other ways. Your ego is also boosted by this feeling.

It may make you feel more attractive, smarter, or more confident. When you realize these things about love and the ego, then you can begin to prepare to break up with them.

2. There is More Than One Potential Partner

A popular myth about love is that there is a soulmate for everyone. The truth is, there are many soulmates available to all of us. Each one will bring new experiences, and each one will prepare us for the next relationship.

Each ex helps us to know what we do not want in a relationship. If you keep these things in mind, you will be able to easier break up with the one you are with now. There is hope to find someone else who can provide you with what you need, and you in turn can do the same for them.

3. End Contact

Make sure that after you break up, you do not continue to text and call them. Also, as you will surely miss them, remember why you broke up with them in the first place. Do not keep rehashing the good memories, and do not think about what might have been.

4. Ease Them Into the Idea

Do not suddenly heartlessly break up with them out of the blue. Talk to them a couple of times beforehand about what is not working, and gently let them know that you think it would be better for both of you if you ended the relationship at this point.

Tell them that continuing to stay together will only prolong the hurt. Let them know that there are many factors in your decision, and that you want to make a clean break now so that you do not hurt them any further.

5. The Hurt Does Not Have to Last

Another myth about breaking up is that the hurt has to continue on for weeks or months. You are going to be sad after the break up as at this point you still love your ex and you did not want to hurt them.

However, this sadness does not have to linger. Let out your sadness and disappointment. Exercise, journal, cry, and get rid of reminders of the ex. Do not listen to sad songs or watch sad movies. Avoid places where they may hang out as this will only hurt both of you.

When you are wondering how to break up with someone you still love, following the previous tips will help you be able to do so quickly and easily, and you will then not prolong the hurt for either of you.

These are ways to accomplish your goal, and then you can begin to move on and live your life. There is no reason that you have to feel bad for a lengthy amount of time.

Have you used any of these tips to break up with someone you still love? Did you find our tips helpful? Please share in the comments section below.

10 Bad Habits of Unhappy People

Note: This post is written by Jon Rhodes

“I wish everyone could get rich and famous and have everything they ever dreamed of so they would know that’s not the answer.” – Jim Carey

We all want to be happy. That’s what drives us to do most things we do. But with modern life it’s easy to be distracted. We can spend too much time chasing money and success, and too little on the things that REALLY matter.

We are constantly bombarded with adverts and the media telling us what we should be doing. These are to fit in with their goals, not yours. If you’re not careful, this influence can drag you off your path of happiness.

This leads you to develop habits that make you unhappy. When you learn what they are, you are better placed to swap them with habits that make you happy.

Here are some common bad habits of unhappy people…

1. Talk to yourself negatively.

We all meet challenges in life. You wouldn’t be living if you didn’t. Unhappy people use them as an opportunity to put themselves down. They say things like “I can’t”; and “I’m not good enough”.

This can create a cycle of negativity. The more you put yourself down, the lower you feel. The lower you feel, the more you put yourself down.

Talking to yourself in this way will never make you happy. If you can’t do something, that’s fine. Either learn, or ask someone else to do it for you. You can’t expect to be able to do everything.

Be positive about yourself and your abilities. We all have limits. Focus on what you can do.

2. Expect everything to go your way.

When things “go wrong”, unhappy people experience severe negative emotions. These are usually accompanied by a dose of negative self talk, like “Nothing ever goes right for me.” or “Life’s not fair.”

The thing is, nothing goes right for anyone. Your washing machine will pack in when you need it most. Your car will break down at some point.

To get the best out of life you must learn to make the best of what’s in front of you. Life is like sailing in the wind. Sometimes you have the wind behind you pushing you towards your goals. Other times it’s against you. Never give up – you must keep fighting no matter what you’re up against.

3. Hold grudges.

When someone wrongs you, it can feel bad. What feels worse is holding a grudge and feeling bad for months, even years.

All this does is cause ill feeling for yourself – not the person you’re directing it at. Learn to forgive. Not only is it better for your health and happiness, there’s nothing more annoying for the person who wronged you!

4. Forget to play.

It can be easy to get bogged down with work, bills, children, and forget to have fun.  You need time to enjoy yourself if you want to be happy.

Make it a priority to have fun every day. If necessary set aside some “play time” specifically for this purpose. Not only will this raise your happiness levels, it will help you better deal with your responsibilities.

5. Try to please others too much.

Unhappy people try to please others so much they can forget to please themselves. Of course we want people to be happy with us, but not at the cost of our own happiness.

Sometimes you have to make decisions for YOUR benefit. If people around you can’t appreciate that, then they’re not good friends or family to have. Initially you will get some resistance, but after a while people get used to you living more for yourself, and back off.

6. Don’t take risks.

Unhappy people rarely take risks. They’re frightened of what could go wrong. This pushes them into a rut, leading a boring and under-stimulating life.

What is REALLY frightening is spending your life never trying anything new or different. All the good stuff in life demands an element of risk. Embrace change and accept that things might not go to plan.

There’s nothing more awakening than taking risks and trying new things. You also gain valuable life experience no matter what happens.

7. Don’t follow their heart.

Unhappy people make life-changing decisions based on logical thinking. As a result they can be stuck in jobs and relationships that cause them unhappiness.

If a job at the local bank pays well but makes you miserable, what’s the point? Strive to live the life you know in your heart you REALLY want to lead.

8. Blame others.

Unhappy people have a helpless attitude that everything is someone else’s fault. They might blame their partner, parents and children for their lives. This can be depressing and de-powering.

If you take responsibility for your own life, you will be in a better position to make changes and improve it.

9. Don’t live in the “now”.

Unhappy people rarely live in the moment. They dwell on negative past experiences, reliving those awful feelings again. Or they live in the future, thinking they’ll be happy once they have more money, a new house, a partner etc.

You can ONLY be truly happy when you are in the present moment. The most simplest of things can make you happy when you’re in the moment – even breathing in a nice slow deep lung full of fresh air. Try it now!

10. Take life too seriously.

Unhappy people often take everything seriously. This can make the smallest things cause distress. Falling over on your backside should be a fun experience (unless of course you’re seriously hurt).

Take life with a pinch of salt. Learn to laugh when things “go wrong” and always aim to see the bright side of life.

Final thoughts

These are just a few of the things that unhappy people do. Make the decision right now that you will be happy. Decide to be happy. Deciding to be happy is half the battle. Once you have decided, it makes things far easier.

Be wary of slipping back to bad habits. Keep reminding yourself consciously to be happy. After a while it’ll become second nature.

Now do all the things you know deep down you should be doing in order to make yourself happy. Enjoy!

A Glass Of Red Wine = An Hour At Gym, According To Researchers

wine

Too busy to lace up your sneakers and head for a spin class? Relax…you might get the same benefit from popping open a cabernet, pouring yourself a glass, and sitting back and enjoy the same benefits as a workout.

Sounds too fabulous to be true, right? But crazy as it sounds, researchers at the University of Alberta in Canada found that reservatrol, a key ingredient in red wine, when tested in a lab, improved subjects’ physical performance, muscle strength and heart function as much as a session at the gym. “We were excited when we saw that resveratrol showed results similar to what you would see from extensive endurance exercise training,” said researcher Jason Dyck in an article in Science News. “We immediately saw the potential for this and thought that we identified ‘improved exercise performance in a pill.’ “

16 Rules That Lead You To Happiness

The 16 Rules That Lead You To Happiness

Admit that developing your skills and growing emotionally are not the first things in your agenda, if they are even there. Life is full of events and responsibilities; days go by very fast. Many of us forget to work on our physical, emotional and spiritual state. We forget that we need to grow every day.

It doesn’t mean you are not beautiful right now, but constant growth and constant changes are necessary to keep you happy and motivated. The following are 16 rules that can become the foundation for your self-perfection. Make a small step to the better version of you every day.

Enrich your mind

    1. Organize yourself

If you organize your days in a nice and comfortable way, you will find yourself being more relaxed and confident. One good tip here is to deal with the most difficult and massive tasks in the morning. If you leave them for later, you will feel burdened the whole day; who needs that?

    1. Start developing and acquiring skills

There is no better time for it than now. You shouldn’t wait for a special perfect day to start learning how to play the guitar or speak Spanish. Do you want to learn new things? Make the first step: buy a guitar or sign up to take a foreign language course and pay upfront. Thus, you’ll be better motivated to do what you’ve wanted to do for years.

    1. Make a deal with your friends

If you don’t have the resources to buy a music instrument or sign up for courses, it is not an excuse. I bet some of your friends have a guitar at home lying with no use. And I bet there is at least one of your friends who speaks a foreign language. You can ask them to help you and offer something you can do for them in return.

    1. Read, read and once more – read!

Read books of any genre, as many as you can. Books broaden your outlook, make you think and give you the experience you may never acquire in real life. If you don’t know what to read, start with books that got Nobel or Pulitzer Prizes.

Develop your body

    1. Exercise every day

The worst mistake with exercising is seeing it as something unpleasant and torturous. You don’t have to exhaust yourself with super difficult physical activities so that you cannot get out of bed the next day. Just do simple exercises such as squats, push-ups and some stretching exercises. The most important thing is that you do it every day. Yu can run one day, play tennis the next day and do yoga the third day. See it as an interesting hobby and not as something you just have to do with no desire. After a couple of weeks you will feel differently about exercising.

    1. Eat your favorite fruits and vegetables instead of unhealthy food

Well, yes, it doesn’t sound fun and you’ve heard it many times. However, this tip is always vital. You can either harm or do good to your body with food. If you get used to eating fruits instead of chips, for example, you will soon see the difference.

    1. Try group fitness

A fit and energetic instructor and like-minded group of people are a great motivation for exercising. If you find someone to go with you, it is even better. Maybe you both lack friendly pushes to do the whole thing.

    1. Drink water

Drinking a big amount of water every day has lots of benefits. Nutritionists and doctors advise drinking at least eight glasses of water per day. It doesn’t include any other liquids such as coffee or soda.

Cultivate true happiness

    1. Praise people

Making people happy is one of the coolest thing ever, especially if you know and care about these people. Besides, happiness is contagious. Show your appreciation for people around you. If they are good at something, notice it and tell them; it will improve their and your mood.

    1. Smile

Seriously, smiling gives you many benefits. For example, a good laugh releases lots of endorphins that make you happier. Negative emotions won’t help you fight your problems; they’ll only harm you. Smiling, on the other hand, will make you feel better and maybe will make people around you smile, as well.

    1. Take care of your family

How much time do you spend with your spouse and your kids? No matter what your answer is, it is never enough. Parents most often both work and see each other and their kids for one or two hours per day. You should spend more quality time together, support each other and take care of each other. You should be more involved in your kids’ lives. Even when you are not with them, you can always know where they are with the help of Pumpic or similar programs. Make sure you participate in your family’s life and don’t just live together and occasionally share meals.

    1. Surround yourself with people you feel comfortable with

Think of how you feel communicating with people in your life. Aren’t there people who bring negative emotions to your life? Aren’t there those who sabotage your work and drag you down? You cannot be completely happy if you are surrounded with negative pessimistic people. Try to spend time with those who encourage and inspire you. You deserve it.

Grow spiritually

    1. Set goals

I’m not talking about career goals, though they are important, too. Start your day with the thoughts of how to make yourself and your family happy today. What good can you bring to this world today? Set goals to grow spiritually.

    1. Be grateful for what you have

There are always things we want but don’t have. It is important to go to your dreams and goals, but there is no point worrying about not achieving them yet. Remember that there are always people who are happy although they have less than you. If you feel grateful for what you have every day, it’ll help you appreciate your life and your choices more.

    1. Try to do yoga

Even if you know nothing about it, you should try it. Yoga is great for clearing your mind and learning your body. Even the easiest poses bring positive effect. Start your day with yoga, and everything will be good.

    1. Remember that everything goes off

There are many troubles and failures in life; there are many bad events that suck you in. It is difficult to get out and to move on. Ask yourself if this problem matters in a year, five or ten years. Everything passes and soon you forget about bad things. Think about it when you are having a bad day.

You only have one life! Apply some efforts and make the best of it.

Courage = Heart: 5 Daily Reminders for Women

Courage = Heart: 5 Daily Reminders

how to have courage

Most of the time we think courage is a big emotion we muster up in times of need, when the clouds descend and life collapses around us with loud booming noises.

But often, the opposite is true. Sometimes it is the quietest of moments, when we can barely hear our own heart speaking, that require the most courage.

We are taught that courage is having the heart of a lion – but a lion doesn’t always roar. Watch carefully; each move a lion makes is calculated and graceful. In fact, a lion is still for a good portion of time – almost as if in deep contemplation and reflection – choosing to roar when time and circumstance demand it.

As human beings, we are often afforded moments of deep reflection to look inside our own hearts. It is in these moments that we are gifted a new, clearer lens through which we can see ourselves. However, once we peer through that lens, there is no turning back – only marching forward with courage as our guide.

I was lucky enough to interview several women and listen to the deeply introspective responses they had to questions I posed to them about how they define courage and how they found a way to shine in the face of adversity. What rang true through every story and every answer was that women are strong; women are courageous; and, at the worst of times, when the chips are down, women shine! Sometimes, we just need to be reminded of how amazing we are. Here are five reminders of what women should know about themselves:

  1. Be proud of your story. You don’t have to let your story define you. Let it lead you to who you are.
  1. Know you have the courage to BE who you are no matter what life throws at you.
  1. You are stronger and more courageous than you think.
  1. Courage is not the absence of fear. It is feeling fear and doing it anyway.
  1. Your voice is important. It is time to be heard and seen.

Science Says Eating Whole Fresh Lemons Make You Stronger

7435919384_adaa595cc6_k

“When life gives you lemons, you don’t make lemonade. You use the seeds to plant a whole orchard—an entire franchise!”

—Anthon St. Maarten

Lemon is one of the most commonly used ingredients when it comes to the culinary arts. It has the ability to bring its own tangy flavor and enhance the dish’s other flavors. The lemon is said to be a “flavor catalyst,” meaning it opens the taste buds so the flavors that follow it are more prominent.

Aside from their culinary advantages, lemons have many health benefits. They contain large amounts of vitamin C, as well as riboflavin, thiamine, iron, magnesium, pantothenic acid, fiber, vitamin B6, potassium, copper, calcium and folate.

Here are 11 ways that fresh lemons will make you stronger. As Kelly Clarkson sings, “What lemon doesn’t make you stronger? Stand a little taller.”

1. They fight free radicals.

Free radicals are microscopic annoyance that are responsible for damaging cells and cellular membranes. They can cause inflammation, chronic diseases and accelerated aging.

The large amounts of vitamin C in a lemon neutralizes the free radicals. It also helps prevent the buildup of free radicals and can aid in stopping the progression of atherosclerosis and heart disease in diabetics.

2. They boost your immune system.

Punch your flu in the face by boosting your immune system. The citric acid, bioflavonoids, vitamin C, calcium and pectin are your immune system’s sidekick—they will boost your immune system and keep infections at bay.

3. They protect your cells from cancer.

Lemons contain limonene which has been shown to halt the growth of cancer tumors in animals. The limonoids in citrus fruits can protect the cells from damage that can lead to cancer according to a 2005 study published in the Journal of Nutrition.

4. They neutralize chemicals in your body.

Our bodies are naturally acidic and lemons, when metabolized, become alkaline. This reduces our body’s overall acidity, which draws uric acid from the joints. This can reduce the pain and inflammation which many people feel in their joints.

5. They increase your energy and alertness.

The success of climbing Mount Everest, according to Sir Edmund Hillary, is because of the lemon. Pierce J. Howard, PhD, author of The Owner Manual for the Brain: Everyday Applications from Mind Brain Research, says “[lemons] increase the flow of oxygen to the brain; resulting in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness and more mental energy.”

6. They keep your intestines running smooth.

Lemons are a good addition to help you intake enough fiber. The fiber in lemons will help you avoid becoming constipated or developing hemorrhoids. Fiber has also been shown to decrease the risk of developing conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and diverticulitis.

7. They improve your mood.

Turns out lemons do not make sour people. Lemons contain more negatively charged ions that when reacted with positively charged ions create a positive reaction. This reaction will boost improve your mood and elevate your energy levels. They promote clearer thinking and help reduce anxiety and depression.

8. They remove toxins and waste.

Lemon juice is similar in atomic composition to the digestive juices and saliva found in your body. This allows lemons to do a great job at breaking down material, encouraging the liver to produce bile, and helps you flush away unwanted materials and toxins from the digestive process.

9. They make your skin clearer.

Lemons help to push toxins from the body and support healthier liver functions. This results in skin that is clear and supple. The vitamin C in lemons can decrease wrinkles and blemishes. The way to clearer skin starts with good nutrition.

10. They reduce the chance of kidney stones.

Kidney stones develop from an inadequate amount of citrate in your urine. Lemons raise the levels of citrate in your body, helping to prevent kidney stones from developing or being enlarged.

11. They decrease your blood pressure.

Lemons are also high in potassium which helps to keep blood vessels soft and flexible. This will reduce your blood pressure. The vitamin B found in lemons is also beneficial to your heart.

How to Eat a Lemon

A lemon has three distinct parts that can be consumed: the juice, the carpels, and the zest.

The juice can be squeezed on your meals, mixed in with drinks, or used to make pure lemon juice. Mixing lemon with water is a good way to give your water some flavor so that you drink adequate amounts of water in a day.

The carpels are the inside segments that you can eat. You can eat them raw, but many people find the juice too strong. A good way around this is to squeeze the juice into a separate container for different use and then eat the carpels.

The zest is the outer colored part of the peel that is often used to flavor foods. To make zest, place your lemon peels in the freezer for a couple of hours. Then take the peels and grate them.
